i had the new hazelnut macchiato with soy milk and it was delicious. also, pretty! this particular delicious drink is what fueled our drive (skyler got a vanilla bean frappucino with raspberry sauce) to riverside for my official grad school interview. i wasn't worried about getting in, but i was still super nervous! i met with the head of my department and got my official acceptance to grad school! it feels so good!
good hair for my interview!
after we did that, we picked up out tax return (wayyyy out of the way but necessary) and came on home to pick up the puppies. it was a gorgeous day, so we headed to the dog park. i didn't get any pictures because we were too busy visiting with other puppy parents and playing with the dogs. we always have a good time, even though it's about half and hour away.
when we came home from that (and getting more hazelnut wafers!)
we brought the pups home, and headed out again! this time we went to Lowe's to pick out my anniversary gift (a beautiful herb garden!) then had a dinner at BJ's Brewhouse. i had a house cream soda, a mozzerella tomato salad with balsamic and onions, and a gf spinach and artichoke pizza! (no pics again - i was too busy getting teased by my husband!). we zipped off to skyler's parents house for a little bit to visit with them, his sister, and her baby who also happened to be there.
and then came home to put my herb garden together!
isn't it beautiful!? we chose basil, chives, cilantro, parsley, thyme, and dill! i can't wait to use so many fresh herbs! they're supposed to be super easy to keep alive too...let's hope that is true. i've been growing green onions on the windowsill above my kitchen sink and that's working so far!
snacks and meals of interest lately!
super sweet strawberries with sharp cheddar.
crockpot pork shoulder with maple roasted carrots, roasted asparagus with parmesan, and crispy onion straws.
peanut butter crackers with strawberries dipped in a little sweetened condensed milk (the nectar of the south!)
pc wants to make sure nobody forgets him
hi cat. (by the way, he does not like chives! however, he keeps trying to eat them because they look like grass, and he loves grass.)
I envy your herb garden! Also, your cat is so precious.
